We are a collective of UK and international MA Curating students from the University of Essex, and it is our multiple and diverse backgrounds that teach us how important it is to seek a common ground. Our exhibition focuses on young people in modern Britain and that is something we all experience.
As part of our degree course, we have curated an exhibition that gives a voice to inclusion and equality in different levels. We want to use this platform to express the importance of younger generations and how relevant it is to engage with different age groups, communities and contexts. We find generational labelling unjust and want to challenge false portrayals by introducing a fresh perspective – one that we do believe to be accurate and true.
We are supervised by Dr. Gavin Grindon, who has curated exhibitions that include Disobedient Objects (V&A, London, 2014), Cruel Designs at Dismaland (2015) and at Banksy’s Walled Off Hotel in Palestine (2017), and Jess Twyman, Director of Art Exchange.
